ith the end of the Cold War, the impact of ecnomic factors on the international relations is evidently on the rise. Marketization, liberalization and globalization in economy tend to complicate the relationship of interests among nations, deepen their interdependence, intensify their competition and multiply potential risks. Under such a backdrop, a host of countries have begun to reconsider and weigh the interrelation between security of economy and those of military and politics, thus substantially upgrading the position of economic security in the framework of general national strategy. However, the defining of economic security in different countries is usually restricted by their different national conditions and national strategic goals. Furthermore, even in the same country, the perception of economic security will vary with different periods, circumstances and stages. Generally, in surveying economic security issue in certain country, one should proceed from following five fundamental viewpoints: national interests, comprehensiveness, globalism, forecasting and the whole people. The guarantee for economic security should be based on domestic economic strength and mainly depends on the survivability, competitiveness, adaptability and capabilities of control and anti-menace.
