Abstract With the end of the Cold War, different security concepts appeared in the Asia-Pasific region. Some countries still stick to the old Cold War -style 'hegemonic stability', or 'alliance security' while some insist on the 'balance of power stability'. But more and more countries turn to advocate new security concepts like 'cooperative security'. The difference in security concepts made different countries seek and strive for the establishment of regional security structure in line with their own concepts, such as 'hegemonic system', 'bilateral alliance structure', 'balance of power's structure', 'collective security model' and 'security cooperative mechanism', etc.. Different security structures then resulted in different regional security strategies such as 'leadership strategy', 'double-anchor strategy', 'balance of power strategy', and 'dialogue and cooperation strategy' , etc.. Since the end of the Cold War, China has been pursuing the 'comprehensive security' strategy all the time . China views that security is not only a military issue, but also a political and economic one; and that Asian countries should not only enhance defence capability to guarantee security, but also put emphasis on promoting bilateral and multilateral dialogue on politic, economy and security to achieve regional security and create security environments in a cooperative way.
