Yang Quyun and the Modern Chinese Democratic Revolution

在近代中国民主革命早期的运动中，杨衢云是一位值得深入研究的人物。杨氏曾在香港组织辅仁文社，随后又加入香港兴中会，是该会的第一任会长。杨氏与孙中山一起领导、策划了１８９５年广州起义、１９００年惠州起义，后被清吏所派刺客暗杀。研究杨衢云，不但对杨氏的革命活动作历史定位有所帮助，就是对厘清中国民主革命运动早期的各种关系。

In the early campaign of the modern Chinese democratic revolution,Yang Quyun was a figure worthy of further study.He set up the Furen Literary Society in Hong Kong.Later he joined the Revive China Society and became the first leader of this organization. Together with Dr.Sun Yatsen,he planned and led the Guangzhou Uprising in 1895 and the Huizhou Uprising in 1900.He was murdered by an assassin sent by a government official of the Qing Dynasty.The further study of Yang Quyun contributes not only to the historical assessment of his revolutionary activities,but also to the clarification of the varied relations in the early period of the modern Chinese democratic revolution.
