Based on the stratigraphical contexts of the different Peiligang Culture features and the typological analysis of the artifacts ,this thesis deals with the systematic elaboration on the morphological changing process of the urn pottery and their main characteristics in different periods from Peiligang of Xinzheng, Shuiquan of Xiaxian, Shigu of changge, Egou Beigang of Mixian and Shawouli of xinzheng, Henan province. After the comporison with the pottery unearthed from pits at Shigu, shuiquan and Egou Beigang,the auther concludes that Peiligang Culture can be divided into Early,Middle and Late phases, and meanwhile ,the midde phase can be redivided into three subphases,the Late phase can be redivided into two subphases,according to the different patterns of the pottery assemblages.
