摘要
本文比较全面地论述了英语混成词,指出混成词已在英语词汇中获得了一席之地,混成法成了现代英语构词的主要方式之一。文章以大量词例说明混成词涉及到社会生活的各个方面,出现在诸如科学技术、政治经济、文化艺术、旅行服务等各个领域。文章还着重总结了混成词的结构特点,指出了混成词构词的十种方法,最后讨论了混成词的发音和重音规律。
This paper tries to deal with all aspects of English blend words. It points out that blends have already gained a place in English vocabulary, and blending has become one of the principal means of making new words. Citing a number of examples, the article holds that blends occur in many areas and touch every part of social life. Then it lays an emphasis on their formal characteristics, which are illustrated by ten patterns. Finally, it discusses their pronunciation and stress.
