摘要
The occurence of water figures in describing and judging works of art is a complicated subject. My chief concern in this article is their employment in the discussion of prose rhythms. But reference to verse will also be made as it is impossible to keep verse entirely separate from prose. Besides, verse is an older form of literature and also possesses a more easily noticeable rhythm.
