LINGUISTIC FEATURES AND AUTHOR'S MESSAGE

摘要 An author writes not for the sake of writing, but to convey some message. In this sense, a piece of literary writing is also a form of communication. It is a discourse, or a literary discourse to be precise. In ordinary discourse, speech or writing, the speaker or writer conveys his or her message through a process of encoding by means of language.
