摘要
近年来,不少英、美学者对不同文化的修辞特点进行了比较研究。他们的结论是,不同文化中存在着不同的逻辑。(Kaplan,1972;Lackstorm,Selinker,Todd-Trimble andTrimble,1973,1977,1976;Leech,1981)
This paper attempts to investigate how English and Chinese writings differ in rhetoric and innerlogic. Two short pieces of analogous content are compared with reference to length and structureof sentences, paragraph organization and some other stylistic features. While no unequivocal con-clusion emerges from this sample comparison, some striking contrasts do present themselves.
