According to the chronicle of Shelley's poetic creation, this paper gives a brief account of his life, makes a general analysis of his important verses in each period, points out the fact that the poet lays his emphasis on tile laudation of the future world he longs for, i.e. the revolution in his imagination. The paper then expounds Shelley's poetic style, bringing to the fore his lyrical poems which are characterized by the spontaneous overflow of the powerful feelings through various images. All these lead to the affirmation of Shelley's position as a great poet in English literary history.
