战后国际战略关系和经济关系的巨大变化,使得西方发达国家之间没有爆发战争;核武器的巨大破坏力,使得两个超级大国都不愿甘冒核大战的危险;局部战争大都有两个超级大国的争夺背景,不能完全排除局部战争有导致世界大战的可能性。现实仍然是严峻的,但和平因素的增长超过了战争因素的增长,第三世界是一支巨大的和平力量。世界各国人民保持警惕,坚持斗争,新的世界战争是可以避免的。
Great changes that have taken place in international strategic and economic relationshipsever since the end of World War Ⅱ have served to prevent the outbreak of war bet-ween developed countries in the West;Being aware of the enormous destructive powerof nuclear weapons,both superpowers have refrained from taking the risk of a nuclearexchange;Local wars are generally set against a background of superpower rivalry andtherefore the possibility of such wars escalating into a global war cannot totally beruled out.It remains a stern fact that the current international situation is still serious.However,the forces for peace are outgrowing those for war.The third world constitutesa mighty force for peace.Provided that the peoples of the world maintain vigilanceand persist in struggle world war can be avoided.
