The change of regime in the Philippines has itsroot in a wide range of causes,economic,political,social,etc,with the assassinationof Benigno Aquino being the blasting fuse that had touched off a drastic deteriorationof the situation in the country.In the course of events,the Philippinepeople and the Catholic Church played their respective roles.The situation in thephilippines will have major repercussions upon the situation in the Asian-Pacific re-gion and the US-Soviet contention therein.
