美以是否承认巴解组织的代表权和巴勒斯坦人民的自决权问题是中东和谈斗争的焦点。由于以色列坚持顽固立场以及美国拒不让步,约巴分歧激化,导致和平解决中东问题的努力陷入僵局。中东问题的和平解决将是一个长期的艰苦曲折的斗争过程。中东形势仍将是起伏不定,久拖难决的。

Whether the United States and Israel recognize the representativeness of thePLO and the Plestinian People's right to self-determination is the focus of the struggle in the Middle East peace talks.As Israel insists on its diehard position and the Uni-ted States refuses to make any concession,the differences between Jordan and the PLOhave sharpened and thus the efforts for the peaceful solution of the Middle East conf-lict have got into a stalemate.The peaceful solution will have to be achieved througha long,difficult and tortuous process of struggle.The situation in the Middle Eastwill still be unstable and uncertain and the conflict will not be settled easily in ashort time.
