The study on mythology by the western scholars has far excelled the mythology per se and has been developing in a more and more philosophic direction. This essay proceeds from mythology's coming into being as a science and its development, as well as the prevailing study of the various Greek-Roman Myth-systems from the angles of philosophy and anthropology, thus bringing into focus the general philosophic direction and the tendency of multi-discipline infiltration in the study of mythology.
