半个多世纪以来,特别是第二次世界大战以后,第三产业的崛起已经成为不可否认的现实。加强对第三产业的理论研究,乃是实践向我们提出的迫切任务。本文试图就第三产业兴盛的必然性,它的性质、地位和作用等一些基本理论问题提出初步的看法。

The third industry rose rapidly after World War II and is playingan important role in national economy. The present writer holds thatthe third industry should be considered productive, for it provides ser-vices and products of mental work needed by society. He analyzes thecauses of the prosperity of the third industry and its relations withmaterial production. He believes that the third industry gives a power-ful boost to the whole economy and social development. Finally, the writer brings up some new questions well worth care-ful study.
