This text mainly discusses Hermann Hesse's elaboration on 'faith' via comparison with the dissertations of karl Jaspers,a representative figure of the German existentialism,on 'philosophy as faith'.Analysis of the sameness and similarities between the two could lead to a grasp of the depth of Hesse's theories and the significance of 'philosophy as faith' in his thinking.
