预设的可接受性

The Acceptability of Presupposition

文章分析了一般语用预设定义的不足,提出了研究预设的新角度:对受话人而言预设的可接受性。预设分为存在性预设与事态性预设,分别与现实世界、观念世界、词语世界中事物的静态与动态相关。以较清晰的层次论述了预设可接受性的判断问题:首先,预设触发语的存在有助于初步判断预设的可接受性;其次,各种语境(包括语言内语境、语言外语境)影响着预设的最终接受。最后指出了此研究结果在交际、教学与翻译三方面的应用前景。

Because of inadequacies of the general definitions of pragmatic presupposition,this paper proposes anew approach to investigation of presupposition,that is,to investigate the acceptability of presuppositions.Presupposi-tions can be classified into two general kinds:existence presupposition and factive presupposition,which associates re-spectively with the static state and the dynamic state of things in the world of reality,the world of concepts,the worldof words.This paper also classifies and illustrates the judgment of the acceptability of presuppositions.First,presup-position—triggers help make the initial judgment.Second,different contexts(including linguistic context and non-linguistic context)influence the final judgment of acceptability.The results can be applied to verbal communication,teaching and translation practice.
