Sam Shepard, the foremost American postmodern playwright, never ends his plays with everything properly explained. He always fuels our burning curiosity with numerous questions marks rather than meets our desire by offering cheap solutions. For this reason, the author of this article is enabled to read and decode Shepard's representative work Buried Child with refreshing interests and personal insights.By introducing the curtain line“maybe it's the sun”,this article probes into the sensational family secret and the social problems it presents.
