This paper sets forth the origin, intensions, features, development tendency of konwledge economy and its conditions of sustainable development. It expounds geography playing an important role in making scientific researches on knowledge economy. It points out that geography establishes own subject standing only if it actively takes part in researches knowledge economy in the times of knowledge economy of twenty first century, or else it will go into a dangerous era.
