A Review of Studies on Pragmatics and Translation

在语用与翻译研究领域，贝尔、格特、哈蒂姆和梅森、何自然、钱冠连、曾宪才等学者的观点各有其优缺点，也各有其着重点。贝尔的研究给翻译的语用心理过程研究开了一个好头；格特则从关联理论的角度研究翻译；哈蒂姆和梅森的研究则涉及翻译过程中的语用迁移问题。何自然、钱冠连、曾宪才等国内学者也给语用与翻译研究增添了不少光彩。

The present paper reviews some studies on pragmatics and translation. Bell's study on translation process discusses the psycho-pragmatic processes in translation. Gutt studies translation from the view-point of Relevance Theory. Hatim & Mason's cross-cultural study actually touches upon pragmatic transfer in translation. He Ziran,Qian Guanlian, Zeng Xiancai and other Chinese scholars also made contributions to the field. The author points out that combinatory studies on pragmatics and translation should be conducted on the basis of the principle that translation is both an art and a science.
