Main countermeasures to speed up the urbanization development in West Minopity Nationality region

城市化发展缓慢是西部少数民族地区长期以来经济发展缓慢的一个重要因素，主要表现为城市化水平低、增长慢，城市现代化低，中小城市成长滞后，造成区域性中心城市缺乏等特征。因此，加速西部经济发展，必须加速城市化进程，建设多极的、不同等级的区域中心，增强城市的城市竞争力和影响力，具体对策：第一，以资源开发和重大项目建设促进城镇成长；第二，提高西部民族地区的城市等级；第三，依靠已有的市区、县区和镇区，集中布局和发展地方企业；第四，因地制宜发展大城市，努力提高现有大城市的经济实力。

The slow development of urbanization is closely related to long-term slow economic growth in West Minority Nationality region,it is characterized as low level and slow progress of urbanization,low level of urban modernization as well as slow growth of medium sizde and small cities.Slow development makes the characteristic of shortage of regional central cities.Therefore in order to accelerate western economical development,it needs to speed up urbanization process by setting up regional cities on different levals andenhancing the competition capacity.The detail measures are taken as follows： （1） Accelerate the urban growth by resource exploitation and key project construction. （2） Heighten the urban rank of western nationality region． （3） Develop and distribute concentricity of loacl enterprises in cities and towns. （4） Develop the large cities in light of local condition and enhance their economic power.
