摘要
南山根遗址是1958年内蒙古自治区文物工作队在这里调查一批青铜器出土情况时发现的。事后,内蒙古文物队又邀同我们做过调查,得知南山根遗址与赤峰夏家店遗址相似。
The Nan-shan-keng site is situated in Ning-cheng County, Liaoning Province. In 1961, trial diggings were conducted here over a total area of 236 square metres, bringing to light the remains of two different cultures similar to those found at Hsia-chia-tien in Ch'ih-feng City, Inner Mongolia (cf. 'Trial Diggings at Yao-wang-miao and Hsia-chia-tien in Ch'ih-feng', Kaogu Xuebao, No. 1, 1974, p. 111).
The stone implements unearthed from the Lower Hsia-chia-tien Layer here are dominated by the spade and hoe which together constitute more than one half of the total. In the Yellow Eiver valley, it was not until the patriachal tribal communes had reached a rather high stage of development that stone spades and hoes made their first appearence. This might also be the case here.
Many of the pottery and bronzes unearthed from the Upper Hsia-chia-tien Layer here are marked by distinctive local characteristics. In the case of some large tombs, these pottery and bronzes are found side by side with typical bronze ritual vessels of the Spring and Autumn Period (ting-tripod, fu-vessel and kuei-vessel) often encountered in the Central Plain. This fact suggests that the tombs probably date from the Spring and Autumn Period.
