摘要
Clarity is a virtue in oral translation,but vagueness and muddiness occur as a common failing, resulting in misunderstanding and frustration. This paper attempts probe into the causes of thefault and suggests the following solutions: 1) Handle superordinates and their hyponyms properly; 2)Avoid using ambiguous words ; 3) Prefer the definite and specific to the vague and general. Only by being clear, definite and specific can interpretation expect to be adequate, efficient and desirable, workingtowards perfection.
