In 1993, a chariot pit of the Shang Dynasty was excavated at the site to the southeast of the Maiyuanzhang village by the Anyang Municipal Archaeological Team. The charoit and horses were conserved pretty well, and the two horses werelying besides the yoke. Two wooden brakes were found for the first time in the archaeological record of the Shang archaeology, thus provided a very important clue for the study of the "Chariot system" of the Shang Dynasty.
