AbstractScience,historically,has been a mans field.with few exceptions,well educated,eminently capable women scientists have been traditionally relegated to less influential positions while their male counterparts enjoy tenure,recognition and salary increases.This article introduces some American sociologists studies on the following questions:What are the reasons of sex differences in science?What is the place of women in sciences?Are women scientists less productive than their male colleagues?Will womens scientific careers be hindered by their demands for family life?
