句法的象似性问题

A survey of studies of iconicity in syntax,

象似性(iconicity)是当今认知语言学讨论句法时的一个热门话题,它对了解语言和认知的关系有重要意义。本文对国外研究这个问题的情况作了比较全面的介绍,也作了一点评论。共分五个部分:(1)语言符号的任意性和家似性;(2)句法的象似性;(3)象似原则与其他原则的关系;(4)象似性的认知原因;(5)汉语句法的象似性。文章认为,句法象似性的深入研究,应注重从认知角度探索句法规则约定俗成或“语法化”的规律。

The study of iconicity in syntax is important to the understanding of the relation betweenlanguage and cognition. The present survey is divided into five parts: (1) Arbitrariness vs. iconi-city; (2) Iconicity in syntax; (3) Interaction between iconicity principles and other principles; (4)The cognitive base of iconicity; and (5) Iconicity in Chinese syntax. The author lays stress onthe importance of the law of conventionalization or grammaticalization from a cognitive perspec-tive.
