一、交际是否等于沟通?英语Communication这个词,语言学界多译为"交际",心理学界多译为"沟通".事实上,交际与沟通是有一段距离的.说了话,对方懂了,这是交际,也是沟通.说了话,对方莫名其妙,这不是沟通,只是交际——不产生效果或产生反效果的交际.在不同民族之间,这种事例是屡见不鲜的.下面是两个例子.

This paper tries to show where the Chinese and the English-speaking people may differ in social communication. It also tries to trace the origins of such differences. Quoting British and American writings, it holds that neither ethnocentrism nor xenophobia is the idea a Chinese should endorse.
