Looking Round the World and into the Future

本刊编辑部于1992年岁末举行了《国际形势回顾与展望》座谈会,出席的有北京研究机构的20余位专家学者。与会者从全球和世界各个地区的角度对苏联解体、两极格局终结后国际形势的特点和发展趋势进行了热烈的讨论,既有分析与评论,也有探讨与预测。现将一些主要发言分别摘要予以介绍。

More than 20 specialists and scholars from various units in Beijing were invited by the editorial department of Contemporary International Relations to participated a symposium entitled'The International Situation in Retrospect and Prospect'on Dec. 7. 1992. In the symposium, they freeiy aired from various angles their own views based on the latest development. They reviewed and analyzed the newly appeared phenomenon and predicted the future developing trend of the international situation and situation in some regions and countries after the disintegration of the former Soviet Union. The main points of their talks are covered in this issue and they are related with the following aspects: (1) the world political and economic situations; (2) Europe and the United States; (3) the Commonwealth of Independent States, Russia in particular; (1) Asia: and (5) the Middle East, Africa and Latin America.
