摘要
作者对英语专业40名学生的普通话发音水平和英语语音水平进行了定量分析,发现二者之间存在较密切的相关关系。在学讲普通话的过程中,人们原来只讲地方方言时形成的心理和生理上的定势得以突破,从而使普通语音能力得到提高。提高了的普通语音能力则为学习英语语音提供了某种优势。作者设想,可以有意识地利用普通话来帮助人们学习外语。
Pronunciation of Putonghua and English respectively of 40 local dialect-speaking college studentsmajoring in English were assessed and considerably close correlations were found between the totaland sub scores of the two tests. The results seem to support the view that learning a differentphonemic system will help improve one's general pronunciation ability. In the course of learningPutonghua as a different phonemic system, the subjects' general pronunciation ability was enhancedand which in turn rendered a positive influence on their learning English pronunciation. Given thefact that Putonghua as a different phonemic system is most convenient to learn for a majority ofChinese foreign language learners, it is suggested that it could, if properly treated, turn into anadvantage for these people in their mastery of the pronunciation of the target languages.
