世界乒乓球共有84项主要技术,可划分为五大类型12种打法。其中代表性打法有7种共32项技术。世界乒乓球技术和打法演进过程受五大制胜因素的制约,即:速度、旋转、准确、力量、变化,并始终以如何提高制胜因素的单个水平及它们之间的组合水平为中心,构成乒乓竞技演进规律的总趋向。在打法上可能出现三种类型:质量更高,多种制胜因素所组合的全面型、适应与反适应能力强的全能型以及突出刺激新异性的创新型。

There are 84 techniques of table tennis as a whole in the world. They can be divided into 5 types and 12 plays, including 7 dominating plays with 32 major techniques. The developing process of the plays and techniques is affected by 5 winning factors: speed, spin, accuracy, force and flexibility, and the general tendency of table tennis developing pattern is formed based on the improving the level of the single factor or the combined factors. 3 types of plays may appear:comprehensive playing with quality kill and multiactor combination; all-rounded playing with strong adaptable and anti-adaptable abilities, and creative playing with variety and novelty of skill.
