敦煌莫高窟第296窟《须阇提故事》的研究

A Study of the Story of Sujata Found in the Mural of Cave296 of the Mogao Grottoes

第296窟位处莫高窟南区偏北处。中型,主室为覆斗式,西壁开一龛,是敦煌莫高窟早期的代表洞窟之一。此窟的北壁贤劫千佛之下、金刚力士的上方,以传统的横卷式绘有一幅故事画,长4.32米、宽0.40米,除其最东端为近代穿洞所破坏外,其余诸故事情节和画面等,都保存完好,是莫高窟故事画保存较好的一幅。

The paper introduces the content of the story of Sujata illustrated on the northern wall of cave 296 in the Mogao Grottoes and compares them with the content of the same stories described in books or the paintings of Returning Favors sutra. They were depicted on the basis of the sutra of stories about wise and Stupid people. So viewed in a historical light, they propagated the Chinese traditional thought of loyalty and filial piety. After being transmitted into China. Buddhism was gradually changing its features and was influenced dy Confucianism. That story of Sujata appeared in murals of the Mogao Grottoes was a sign of Sinicization of Buddhism and the social and historic significance should not be ignored.
