论魏源的经济思想

On Wei Yuan's Economic Theory

魏源是中国古代经济思想向近代经济思想转变对期的具有承先启后作用的代表人物。本文通过对魏源的经济思想的剖析,比较集中地论述了魏源的“重本”而并不“抑末”、“除弊”也要注意“兴利”、主张上层统治者“黜奢”和贫困劳动人民“崇俭”,以及“利国”必先“利民”、“益上必先”“益下”的经济思想,并对魏源的贷币思想也作了一些探讨。

Wei Yuan is a typical figure characterized by the transitional nature from China's ancient economic thinking to the modern mode thereof.This paper gives a detailedaccount of Wei's economic theory,with stress laid upon his attaching importanceto the “base” without neglecting the “branch”,to “eliminating malpractice” while“promoting the beneficial”,his opinions of “preventing luxury” for the upper-stra-tum rulers and “upholding thrift” for the poor,and his economic idea that peopleshould be benefitted before the government and the common folks be benefitted be-fore the folks of upper classes.Some discussion is also conducted about Wei's theoryconcerning currency.
