Of all the township enterprises, those in the natural resources-developing areasform a significant proportion. They reap economic benefits by developing the Iocalnatural resources. As shown in the typical cases in Jincheng prefecture, Shanxi, thegrowth of this specific group of rural enterprises bears both features common to alltownship enterprises and some particularities. The present article, basing on a compre-hensive analysis of the special features of such enterprises in the prefecture, givesa general description of the trend in their development and offers proposals on whatthe state should do correspondingly.
