英汉被动意义名词性短语的对比研究

Modifier-head NP coustruction with passive meaning- English and Chinese compared

本文从结构、中心语、修饰语、短语的扩展、句法功能、歧义以及使用频率等几个方面把英语中表示被动意义的名词性短语同汉语中的同类短语进行了对比,认为英语的这类短语使用频率高,出现歧义的可能性大;当修饰语为以所有格形式出现的指人名词时,语义上的施受关系总的来说不如汉语同类短语那样明显。

Modifier-head NP constructions with passive meaning are found both in English and Chinese. This paper, after comparison of the English construction with its Chinese equivalent in respect of structure, syntactic function, ambiguities in interpretation and frequency of occurrence, comes to the conclusion that it has a much higher frequency of occurrence in English and is also more liable to give rise to ambiguities, and that it is not so in Chinese.
