A Research Report on Certain Problems Concerning the Reform and Development of Shanghai's Statistical Work

在我国社会主义初级阶段,全面改革和对外开放的浪潮历史地把统计工作推到经济和社会发展的前沿,《统计法》的颁布与实施,加快了统计现代化建设的步伐。随着社会主义有计划商品经济的发展和新技术革命的兴起,对统计信息的社会需求量出现了质的飞跃,统计作为信息系统的主体地位更为突出,统计科学普及化已成为当今世界的潮流。

This research report places emphasis on combining theories with practice and centres on the needs called for by the current economic development and the intensification of economic reforms in Shanghai and all over the nation. It makes some theoretical explorations and puts forth some practictical considerations with regard to the direction, objective, policy and measures for the reform and development of Shanghai's statistical work by absorbing the research achievements and practical experiences drawn from the nation-wide statistical work. Thus, the report provides a new approach to the study of statistical development.
