戈尔巴乔夫上台后的苏联中东政策

THE SOVIET UNION'S MIDDLE-EAST POLICY SINCE GORBACHEV CAME INTO OFFICE.

戈尔巴乔夫上台后,苏联对中东政策趋于灵活谨慎,讲究实效并相应地进行了某些调整:积极改善同温和国家的关系;松动同以色列的关系;调解巴解组织内部矛盾等。但苏联对中东的基本战略目标未变,调整政策只是为了加强自己同美国争夺中东的地位。

Since Gorbachev came into office,the Soviet Union has become more flexible and prudent in its Middle-East policy,paying more attention to the actual effects of the policy.Accordingly the following readjustments have been made:active- ly trying to improve its relations with the moderatist countries;easing its relation- ship with Israel; mediating the internal contradiction within the P.L.O.However the Soviet basic strategic aims in the Middle East are not changed.Its policy readjustment is only meant to strengthen its own position in its rivalry with the United States in the Middle East.
