本文认为,社会的各项经济活动赖以运行的支柱是经济效益观及相应的经济效益评价方法。我们在经济体制改革中遇到的许多问题都是和我们没有建立起与我们的社会主义制度相适应的经济效益评价方法有关的。研究经济体制改革可以以经济效益评价方法作为出发点。文章指出,有宏观控制的市场协调体制可以作为我们现阶段的目标模式,但应以普通推行经济评价方法作为宏观控制的主要内容。文章还分析了经济评价方法在经济体制改革各方面所能起到的作用。并提出推行经济评价方法是把物质文明建设和精神文明建设有机地结合起来的措施。

The view of economic benefits and the corresponding means for assessing such benefits areviewed by the author of this article as the mainstays on which the social economy operates.Many problems that have cropped up in the reforms in China's economic system are associated with the absence of particular means of assessing economic benefits,means corresponding to thesocialist system.Research on the reform of the economic system may well start with the studyon such means.The author proposed the use of a market coordination system under macroscopiccontrol as the object model and the wide application of such a method as the major form of ma-croscopic control.With an analysis of the role of the means for economic benefit assessment indifferent aspects of the reform of the economic system,the author notes that the popularizationof the economic assessment means should be viewed as an appropriate measure aimed at the orga-nic combination of the development of the material civilization with that of the spiritual civili-zation.
