摘要
在中山、广州及其他粤方言中,“sesquisyllabic”字(一个半音节构成的字)在上古音复声母的拟构上提供了极有价值的语音内部及共时的佐证资料。本文拟构了“角、结、笔、胳、凡、横、卷”等七字的上古音一个半音节字音。同时论及其他跟汉字关系不大明确的一个半音节字。
In Zhongshan, Cantonese, and other Yue dialects, 'sesquisyllabic' words words that are 'a syllable and a half' in length (Matisoff 1973)--are valuable sources that provide language-internal, synchronic data to support the reconstruction of initial consonantclusters in Old Chinese. In this paper, sesquisyllabic evidence supporting earlier clusters inOld Chinese are proposed for the following words 角 'horn, corner', 结 'knot', 笔 'writingbrush; straight', 胳 'armpit', 凡 'all', 横 'crosswise', and 卷 'roll'. Additional sesquisyllabicwords with more tenuous linkage to regulax Chinese words are also mentioned.
