Emancipate Our Minds, Deepen Understanding and Strive for Rapid Development of Our Foreign Trade

1981年我国的经济形势很好。由于党的正确路线、方针、政策得到了有力贯彻,全党、全军、全国人民在政治上更加安定团结,各条战线出现了越来越好的形势。调整国民经济已经取得成绩。农村形势很好。在气候反常、灾情严重的情况下,农业生产仍然是全面增产。粮食产量可能接近历史最高水平的1979年。各种经济作物也是全面增长的形势,棉花、油料、糖料、烟叶收成都很好。工业生产情况也较好。轻工业继续以较高的速度增长,重工业的情况也逐步好转。

China's open economic policy is meant to ensure vigorous growth of foreign trade and a full utilization of the international market. The importance of expanding foreign trade must be recognized in the context of the whole strategy. It is imperative for us to emancipate our minds, deepen our understanding, always bear in mind the overall situation, give full play to our advantages and make up for our deficiencies so as to contribute to the growth of our national ecoonomy by expanding foreign trade at a speed higher than that of the national economy. Our foreign trade performance in 1981 was excellent and continued increases in import and export turnover will be achieved next year on the basis of the performance in 1981. Six aspects of our work must be strengthened to achieve our goals for 1982.
