《白鹿原》的艺术独特性之一,是侵入了中国文化版图上一方历来被视为禁区的领地———私密的身体。在田小娥的性爱叙事、白灵的革命叙事、白嘉轩的道德叙事中,身体都受到了第一位的、强烈的关注。身体,在《白鹿原》中已经被打上标记或符号,在每一个能指背后都暗含着特定的所指信息。这些经过欲望与时间考验的身体故事,都是《白鹿原》有机体的重要组成部分,正是因为它们的存在,《白鹿原》的叙事才五彩缤纷,《白鹿原》的艺术才更具独特性,《白鹿原》的故事才有可能流传得更久更久。

One of the artistic features of White Deer Plain is its invasion of bodily privacy which has always been regarded as the forbidden territory in some parts of Chinese culture. In the narration of Tian Xiao’e’s erotic love, Bai ling’ s revolutionary narration, and Bai Jiaxuan’s moral narration, body is given primary concern. Body is labeled or symbolized in the novel. Each signifier implies specified information. All the stories about body that are subjected to the test of desire and time are important organic components of the novel. It is just the existence of these components that makes the narrations of the novel colorful, its art peculiar and its stories more lasting.
