The libraries of colleges and universities are now carrying out innovation and widening their service scopes while the professional development of the librarians working in the departments of higher institutions remains stagnant.The author makes an analysis of the advantages of the librarians and the obstacles in their professional development,proposes that the professional development of the librarians should be promoted from the following aspects: to be comprehensively familiar with the work-flow,to carry out the featured service,to strive to study the profession knowledge,and to strengthen the communication with the leaders.
