In the history of modern Chinese grammar,The Lecture Notes of Grammar,Mr.Zhu De-xi’s representative work,is of great impact.Influenced by American structuralism grammar,especially Mr.Zhao Yuanren’s grammar works,Mr.Zhu wrote this famous book.It reflects fully the author’s main characteristics of the grammatical research,such as comprehensive study from the aspects of function,structure,meaning,syntactic position,speech and expression,combination of static level analysis and dynamic transformation analysis,detailed description based on careful observation,comparison between the ancient and modern Chinese,and combination of Chinese and foreign languages,and so on.
