训诂方式与训诂方法的区分——以“声训”和“因声求义”为例

Discussion on Distinguishing the Method of Exegetical Studies and the Mode of Exegetical Studies——A Case Study of the "Sound Explanation" and "Inference Meanings from Sounds"

长期以来,不少学者往往将训诂方法和训诂方式等同起来,或者混淆了二者之间的界限。有的学者将声训视为训诂方式,有的学者将声训视为训诂方法,也有的学者甚至把声训与因声求义等同起来。其实,训诂方法和训诂方式在训诂实践中有着本质上的区别。声训是训诂方式,因声求义则是训诂方法,不宜混淆二者之间的界限,亦不能将二者等同起来。

For a long time,quite a few of scholars have regarded the method of exegetical studies and the mode of exegetical studies as equal or mix them up.Some researchers regard sound explanation as the mode of exegetical studies,some regard sound explanation as method of exegetical studies,and even some regard sound explanation and inference meanings from sounds as equal.Actually,there are essential differences between the method of exegetical studies and the mode of exegetical studies in exegetical practice.Sound explanation is the mode of exegetical studies,while inferring meanings from sounds is the method of exegetical studies.We cannot confuse the limits of them and treat them as the same.
