Sesame(Sesamum indicum L.) is an important oil-yielding plant in the world.Black sesame seeds are beneficial to human health.Breeding of new varieties is a key component of black sesame industry development.The nutritional quality of black sesame seeds were briefly summarized,the questions were found in breeding through the analysis of the present situation,and also the developmental trend of the future research on black sesame breeding was prospected.
