议汉译英中标点符号的处理

目前各类翻译教材中对标点符号的处理,既没能做到尽量传达原文形式,有时又损害了原作的效果。根据孙致礼教授在《翻译的异化与归化》中的主张,本文提出以下观点:在可能的情况下,应尽量保留原文的标点符号;如果译文结构发生了变化,则应随之作相应的变动。

At present punctuation is not well delt with in various translation text-books.There are too many unnecessary changes,which either change the structure of the original work or are sometimes less effective than the original work.According to the proposition in Professor Sun Zhili's article“Foreignization and Domestication in Translation”,this paper advocates that punctuation should be preserved as much as possible;changes can only be made when necessary.
