耿林莽散文诗本体观与文体论认为,散文诗的本质属性是诗,散文诗是诗的延伸。而在散文诗美学观与形式论方面,他指出散文诗美在美文性、抒情性、多样性和流动美。在散文诗的创作观与方法论方面,他认为散文诗并不"易写",应注重抒情与叙事的结合,倡导朴实无华的诗意美和复调式的结构体系;应强化诗化与散文化矛盾的结合,走"化散文"的路子;应该"野"一点,大胆借鉴其他文体的优长;应处理好虚实关系、意与象的关系、思想性和艺术性的关系。
