In the researches made by both Chinese and foreign scholars on the October Revolution(1917),this article for the first time introduces some methods of economics,sociology,statistics and historical comparision into analysing the social and economic development and the change of the major social statistical figures in Russia before and after the Revolution(1913 and 1940),and compares these figures with those of the major capitalist countries-the United States of America,Britain,France,Germany and Japan in the same two years,so to demonstrate the great impetus the Revolution had given to the process of Russian modernization.Based on an analysis of influence of the road of the Revolution on socialist construction in Russia,this article also probes into the historical significance of the Revolution and its enlightenment to us.
