The So called Chuen pi Convention is an important problem in the Study of Hong Kong History.Some historians affirm its existence,and others not.Up to now this dispute remains unsettled.Whether the Convention really existed or not,it is not a matter of thinking,but a matter of historical facts.This article,on the basis of a vast amount of Chinese and British archives,especially the latter,which the author personally collected from the PRO in London,will tell you how the British occupied the Chinese territory-Hong Kong lsland,and give you full proof that the so called Chuen pi Convention was merely a falsification of Charles Elliot,the British Superintendent of Commerce in China at that time,with the aim to justify their unlawful military occupation of the lsland of Hong kong.
