论近代以来中国的国家意识与中外关系意识──评余英时《飞弹下的选举──民主与民族主义之间》

On Chinese State Consciousness and the Consciousness of Chinese-Foreign Relationship since the Beginning of Modern Times

以倡导“保守主义”著称的金奖时先生最近在中国“民族──国家的认同方面”提出了一系列“激进”论点．本文从四个方面同余先生进行了商榷：一是“中国”这两个字的具体内容究竟清楚不清楚？二是近代以来中国人民在民族──国家的认同方面究竟是否具有共识？三是近代以来是国际强权还是中国自身不让中国与其他国“平起平坐”？四是要求一个“强大的中国”就是“向以美国为首的西方挑衅”，就是“在中国制造出一个纳粹式的民族主义运动”吗？这究竟是一种什么逻辑？

Mr. Yu Yingshi, famous for his advocacy of 'conservatism', recently put forward a series of radical argument on 'recognition of nation-state'' This article offers to differ from Mr. Yu ftom four angles. First,how to understand the exact meaning of the word 'China'?Second, whether do the Chinese have a consensus on 'recognition of nation-state' in modern times? Third,since the beginning of modern times, who doesn,t allow China to stand on an equal footing with other countries. foreign powers or China herself? And fourth,what logic does one follow in asserting that a mighty China means a provocation tothe Western countries headed by U. S. A. and a Nazist national movement in China?
