Abstract The article holds through analyses that the natural landscapes and the social attractions in Guangzhou and its neighbourhood have no wide range attraction,that the real and unique tourist attraction in Guangzhou lies in the commercial culture and the open door atmosphere of its modernization,where stand the traditions and the modern advantages of Guangzhou,and that the theme gardens and the theme tourist activities are the advantageous attractions Guangzhou could create. And accordingly, the creation of Guangzhou tourist attractions should take into consideration the following points: 1 Pay attention to the creation of the comprehensive image of the city; 2 Focus the Lingnan feature with the commercial culture and the open door atmosphere of its modernization as the nucleus; 3 Develop in a comprehensive way all sorts of local tourist resources and create various kinds of tourist items with the dominant attractions with special features as their centre and leading factor. In so doing,Guangzhou could have a wide tourist market so as to attract a tourist flow on a scale great enough from other provinces and even from abroad.
