The princess was the 3rd daughter of Li Yuanying, the King of Teng,or,the granddaughter of Li Yuan, the founding emperor of the Tang dynasty. The tomb is located at Xinzhuxiang,Baqiao District in the eastern suburbs of Xi'an,and the excavation took place in August of 1991.The bomb consists of three tunnels with three shafts and niches, a passageway and a tomb chamber, which, dug underground, has a square form 3. 5 by 3.4m, and whose ceiling has already fallen. The stone coffin chamber has a hipped roof. Seriously ruined mural paintings in color are found in the tomb passage, passageway, tunnels, shafts and tomb chamber. The remaining part show scenes of travel by camel, attendant girls and so on.Despite previous robbery, the tomb still yields as many as 170 restorable pieces of different kinds of funeral objects. Mention should be made of painted pottery which assume a certain portion and are fashioned in a life-like manner. Impressive are the tomb guardian, heavenly king, woman on horse, hunter on horse, etc.. According to two epitaphs unearthed, the tomb is occupied by the princess and her husband Yu Yin. He was buried in the first year of the Yianshou reign period (690),and she,the 12th year of the Kaiyuan reign period (724). The tomb was built by the time of the interment of Yu Yin,and the beautiful pottery figures should come with the princess because they were made exclusively for the royal family.
